Meditation Group

For some 18 years a group of people from all backgrounds has been meeting in the St Andrew’s Chapel (in Church building) sharing together a period of silence. The practice of meditation is not only beneficial to our health and well-being, it is also a way to deepen our spiritual life. Unencumbered by words and thoughts it is possible to go into our hearts and discover our original goodness and also the spirit of the God within, who accepts and loves us unconditionally. We would welcome anyone who might like to come along and experience this calming and life-affirming practice.
Our group, which is affiliated with The World Community for Christian Meditation, meets each Friday at 9:15 am. The World Community is to be found in over 100 countries, but we all share the same form of mediation. Each time we sit down to mediate, we start on an inner journey. As we leave thoughts and images behind we begin a journey from the head to the heart. It is often said that mediation is simple, but not easy, but the more we practice it, the easier it becomes. There is also a time afterwards for sharing.
